The Greek School of Oxford is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Greek Language Teacher to join our team. We are a vibrant and welcoming weekly school dedicated to preserving the Greek language, culture, and traditions among children and young people in the Oxford area.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
Teach Greek language (spoken and written) to children aged 5–16 in engaging, age-appropriate ways
Deliver lessons and organize events that incorporate elements of Greek history, culture, and traditions
Support students in their preparation for GCSE, A-levels and other Greek language qualifications (Ellinomathia)
Work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff in a community-oriented environment
🔹 Requirements:
✔ Fluency in Modern Greek (spoken & written)
✔ Studies in Education, Greek or Ancient Greek language (university level or equivalent)
✔ Teaching experience (in a university, school, language class, or similar setting)
✔ A passion for Hellenic culture and education
✔ Ability to work with children aged 5–16
✔ Confidence in preparing students for Greek GCSE, A-levels (or equivalent exams)
✔ Strong communication skills and ability to connect with children and families
🟦 Teaching qualifications (QTS or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
🔹 Desirable:
Familiarity with the UK education system and Greek language curriculum (e.g., GCSE Greek)
Teaching qualifications (QTS or equivalent) are a plus, but not essential
