Job Vacancy: Headteacher – Greek School of Oxford
Location: Oxford, UK
Position Type: Part-time (Saturdays and some administrative hours during the week)
Start Date: September 2025

The Greek School of Oxford is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking Headteacher to guide and support our vibrant part-time school. We are committed to delivering high-quality Greek language education while celebrating the richness of Greek heritage in a warm, inclusive environment.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic and educational leadership for the school
• Oversee teaching, learning, curriculum delivery and student progress across all age groups (ages 4–16+)
• Support and guide teachers, fostering collaboration, professional development, and team cohesion
• Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and effective communication with staff, families, and external stakeholders
• Organize and lead key school events and community activities
• Maintain high standards in safeguarding, student wellbeing, and inclusive practice
• Work with the school board to plan and implement the school’s vision and long-term goals
🔹 Requirements:
✔ Qualified educator with leadership or coordination experience in a school or educational setting
✔ Strong understanding of Greek language education and familiarity with Greek language qualifications (GCSE, A-levels, Ellinomathia)
✔ Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
✔ Proven ability to manage a team and inspire a shared commitment to educational excellence
✔ Fluency in Modern Greek and proficiency in English
🔹 Desirable:
• Experience with bilingual or heritage language settings
• Familiarity with UK safeguarding regulations and part-time/voluntary school contexts
• Teaching qualifications (QTS or equivalent) and/or leadership certifications
